Due to continuous heavy rainfall from November 16th to 19th, severe flooding occurred in many areas of Gia Lai and Dak Lak provinces, disrupting transportation and leaving tens of thousands of households stranded. In Gia Lai province, Van Canh commune received 897 mm of rainfall, and Quy Nhon ward received 879 mm. Water levels in the Ha Thanh, Kon Giang, and Ba River basins rose rapidly, with the Ha Thanh River exceeding the historical flood peak of 2009 by 23 centimeters. More than 19,200 homes across Gia Lai province were flooded with water to a depth of 1.5 to 3 meters, with preliminary estimates of losses exceeding 1 trillion VND.
