VietJet Air signs order for 40 more Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines

Vietjet and Rolls-Royce have officially signed an order for 40 Trent 7000 engines to power 20 Airbus A330neo wide-body aircraft. The two parties also signed the Trent 7000 engine order during the 2024 Singapore Airshow, bringing Vietjet's total order for Trent 7000 engines to 80.

VietJet Air has also continued to select TotalCare®️ comprehensive engine maintenance services to optimize operational efficiency and extend engine lifecycles. Rob Watson, President of Rolls-Royce's Civil Aerospace business, emphasized, "The exceptional flexibility of the Airbus A330neo wide-body aircraft and Trent 7000 engine combination enables VietJet Air to serve diverse markets and optimize its fleet's adaptability. Our £1 billion investment in the Trent 7000 engine "Time on Wing" program is driving Trent 7000 engine upgrades, potentially tripling their operating time in certain scenarios. VietJet currently operates 130 of the new provincial fuel aircraft and has ordered 400 more to support VietJet's plan to expand its flight network in the Asia-Pacific region and launch new routes to Europe and the United States in the near future.
