1.3 Safe Construction Guidelines
⓵Surface preparation
Thoroughly clean the cement floor, ensuring it is free of dust, dirt, and grease.
Reinforce and waterproof voids, cracks, and steel reinforcement gaps on the floor.
⓶Apply primer to enhance adhesion.
The bonding primer can be one of several types of mortar products (additives + cement), asphalt, or cement-based waterproofing products.
In this case, we will guide you on how to use mortar (composed of additives and cement).
- Use 1 bag of 500g additive, 1 bag of 25kg cement, and 30 liters of water, then mix thoroughly.
- Use a paint roller or brush to apply the adhesive layer to the floor surface, focusing on areas needing reinforcement, such as floor penetrations, walls, seams, and corners.
- After applying the adhesive layer, lay the waterproofing membrane onto the surface.
⓷Laying the waterproofing membrane
Spread the PPP waterproofing membrane evenly over the treated surface and press firmly to ensure uniform adhesion without air bubbles. Ensure the entire surface is completely sealed.
To ensure the treated surface is completely sealed for optimal results, corner seams and overlaps should have a spacing of at least 10-15 cm. Apply a layer of the mixture at the seams where the two sheet edges meet to form a bond.
⓸Floor leveling
Install a floor leveling layer. You can use the aforementioned mortar mixture, spreading it evenly over the newly laid membrane; or, you may pour a layer of concrete using regular mortar.
