Applications:

- In water treatment technology: Creates stable and coarse flocs, acting as a coagulant to clarify water. Specifically, through precipitation reactions, FeCl3 also removes phosphates.
- In industry, it is a component in pesticides. FeCl3 is used in the production of printed circuit boards, as an etching agent for printing plates; as a mordant; as a catalyst in organic synthesis; as a water purifying agent; used in photography, as a color fixative, and as a component used in dyes, and for impurity removal from aluminum and steel.
