926IR Epoxy Iron Red Primer
Product Introduction:
This product is a high-performance two-component epoxy anti-rust primer, made primarily of epoxy resin as the film-forming material, combined with a polyamide hardener, and supplemented with high-performance anti-rust pigments and functional additives. Its formulation is designed to provide excellent adhesion and superior anti-rust performance, making it particularly suitable for harsh industrial environments. After drying, this product forms a tough paint film that effectively isolates moisture and chemical corrosion, providing a solid and reliable base protection for subsequent topcoats.
characteristic:
1. Excellent adhesion: It has excellent adhesion to metal substrates such as steel, cast iron, and galvanized parts, and is not easy to peel off.
2. Highly effective anti-rust properties: Contains iron oxide red and special anti-rust pigments, which can effectively inhibit metal oxidation and provide long-lasting protection.
3. Excellent chemical resistance: The paint film is tough and can resist the erosion of various chemicals such as weak acids, weak alkalis, salt water, and oils.
4. Excellent compatibility: It can be used with various epoxy, polyurethane, acrylic and other topcoat systems to form a complete protection system.
5. Easy to apply: It has good leveling properties and can be applied by spraying, brushing or rolling, making it easy to use.
use:
This epoxy iron oxide red primer is widely used in various steel structural components with high protective performance requirements, including but not limited to:
1. Bridge Structures and Steel Structures: Provide basic rust protection for large steel structures.
2. Pipelines and storage tanks: Suitable for the outer walls of pipelines and storage tanks in industries such as petrochemicals and water treatment.
3. Machinery and Heavy Industrial Plants: Protect machinery, vehicle chassis and plant facilities from corrosion.
4. Port machinery and ships: Provide rust protection for port equipment and ship superstructures that are exposed to humid and saline environments for extended periods.
5. General iron products: Used for surface treatment of various metal products to extend their service life.

Instructions for use:
Surface treatment requirements:
Use a solvent to remove visible moisture, grease, oil, lubricants, cutting fluid, and other soluble contaminants from the metal surface that may affect adhesion, or use other methods to prepare the surface condition for the coating application, following the SSPC-SP1 surface treatment standard to prepare for subsequent protective coating applications.
The steel structure surface must be sandblasted to Sa2.5 ( very thorough sandblasting ) or SSPC-SP10 grade. Without using a magnifying glass, at least 95% of the surface area should be free of any visible oil, grease, dust, dirt, scale, rust, coatings, oxides, corrosion products, and other foreign matter. The surface roughness should be in the range of Rz 30-75μm.
Power tool treatment must meet St 3. This standard defines the use of power tools ( such as power wire brushes, grinders, abrasive discs, etc. ) to remove loose rust, scale, old coatings, and other foreign matter from steel surfaces until the surface has a metallic sheen. However, minor scratches and discoloration are permissible. It is equivalent to SSPC-SP3 in the US SSPC standard .
Surface defect treatment: This includes weld slag, burrs, cracks, holes, etc. These defects affect the adhesion and protective effect of the coating and should be removed or repaired as much as possible.
After surface treatment, a thorough inspection should be conducted to ensure that there are no contaminants or defects such as moisture, oil, grease, dust, dirt, scale, rust, welding slag, or burrs before proceeding with the next step.
Under any atmospheric conditions, it is best to perform the painting work within 1 hour after the completion of the "surface treatment" procedure , and no later than 8 hours after the "surface treatment".
Different coatings have different requirements for surface cleanliness and roughness. Please discuss this in detail with our sales staff before using this product.
Construction environment requirements:
Coating application should be carried out under suitable environmental conditions to ensure the quality of the coating. The following factors should be considered:
Temperature: Please construct within the recommended temperature range. Generally, it is not advisable to construct in environments below 5 ℃ or above 40 ℃.
Humidity: The relative humidity should not exceed 85% . Avoid construction in humid or rainy weather.
Wind speed: Excessive wind speed will affect the spraying effect; avoid construction on windy days.
Surface temperature: The surface temperature of the steel should be at least 3 °C higher than the dew point temperature to avoid condensation on the surface.
Storage:
Storage validity period: 2 years
This product must be stored in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight and fire.
