985PR epoxy alloy primer
Product Introduction:
985PR is a high-performance two-component epoxy - amine adduct coating. Designed to provide superior corrosion protection, it is particularly suitable for harsh industrial and marine environments. Its unique chemical structure imparts exceptional toughness and adhesion, forming strong bonds with a variety of substrates, especially alloy substrates. This product serves as an ideal primer for subsequent epoxy topcoats, providing a robust protective base for the entire coating system.
characteristic:
1. Excellent adhesion: It has excellent bonding strength to a variety of metal substrates such as steel, galvanized parts, aluminum alloys and stainless steel, and can effectively prevent paint film from peeling off.
2. High toughness and impact resistance: The cured paint film is tough and wear-resistant, effectively resisting mechanical damage and impact, and extending the coating life.
3. Excellent chemical resistance: The paint film can resist corrosion from corrosive chemicals such as water, salt water, acids, alkalis, solvents and petroleum products.
4. Long-lasting anti-corrosion protection: As an anti-corrosion primer, it can effectively isolate the metal substrate from external corrosive media, providing long-term rust protection.
5. Multifunctionality: It can be used alone or as a primer for epoxy, polyurethane and other topcoats.
use:
It is widely used on various metal surfaces that require high-strength corrosion protection, especially in applications requiring good adhesion to alloy materials:
1. Marine and Shipbuilding: Suitable for rust prevention coating of ship superstructure, decks, cabins, etc.
2. Industrial equipment: storage tanks, pipelines, reaction vessels and steel structures used in facilities such as chemical plants, oil refineries, and power plants.
3. Infrastructure: Suitable for the protection of large steel structures such as bridges, docks, and oil and gas pipelines.
4. Alloy products: Highly recommended for primer treatment of special alloy materials such as stainless steel and aluminum alloys.
5. General metal parts: Used for rust prevention and protection of metal parts such as mechanical equipment and vehicle chassis.

Instructions for use:
Surface treatment requirements:
Use a solvent to remove visible grease, oil, lubricants, cutting fluid, and other soluble contaminants from the metal surface that may affect adhesion, or use other methods to prepare the surface condition for the coating application, following the SSPC-SP1 surface treatment standard to prepare for subsequent protective coating applications.
The steel structure surface must be sandblasted to Sa2.5 ( very thorough sandblasting ) or SSPC-SP10 grade. Without using a magnifying glass, at least 95% of the surface area should be free of any visible oil, grease, dust, dirt, scale, rust, coatings, oxides, corrosion products, and other foreign matter. The surface roughness should be in the range of Rz 30-75μm.
Power tool treatment must meet St 3. This standard defines the use of power tools ( such as power wire brushes, grinders, abrasive discs, etc. ) to remove loose rust, scale, old coatings, and other foreign matter from steel surfaces until the surface has a metallic sheen. However, minor scratches and discoloration are permissible. It is equivalent to SSPC-SP3 in the US SSPC standard .
Surface defect treatment: This includes weld slag, burrs, cracks, holes, etc. These defects affect the adhesion and protective effect of the coating and should be removed or repaired as much as possible.
After surface treatment, a thorough inspection should be conducted to ensure that there are no contaminants or defects such as oil, grease, dust, dirt, scale, rust, welding slag, or burrs before proceeding with the next step.
Under any atmospheric conditions, it is best to perform the painting work within 1 hour after the completion of the "surface treatment" procedure , and no later than 8 hours after the "surface treatment".
Different coatings have different requirements for surface cleanliness and roughness. Please discuss this in detail with our sales staff before using this product.
Construction environment requirements:
Coating application should be carried out under suitable environmental conditions to ensure the quality of the coating. The following factors should be considered:
Temperature: Please construct within the recommended temperature range. Generally, it is not advisable to construct in environments below 5 ℃ or above 40 ℃.
Humidity: The relative humidity should not exceed 85% . Avoid construction in humid or rainy weather.
Wind speed: Excessive wind speed will affect the spraying effect; avoid construction on windy days.
Surface temperature: The surface temperature of the steel should be at least 3 °C higher than the dew point temperature to avoid condensation on the surface.
