MT 600PR Chlorinated Rubber Primer
Product Introduction:
This product is a high-performance, single-component chlorinated rubber primer. Its formulation uses a special chlorinated rubber resin as the main film-forming substance and incorporates high-quality rust-resistant pigments. This primer exhibits excellent fast-drying and water resistance, providing effective protection in humid environments. It has good adhesion to a variety of substrates and effectively isolates the substrate from external corrosive media, making it an ideal choice for providing a protective base for subsequent chlorinated rubber topcoats, alkyd paints, or acrylic paints.
characteristic:
1. Excellent water resistance: The cured paint film has excellent water and moisture resistance, making it particularly suitable for environments with high humidity or frequent contact with water.
2. Fast drying: Single-component design, fast drying speed, which can significantly shorten the construction interval and improve project efficiency.
3. Good weather resistance: The paint film is not easily affected by ultraviolet rays and climate changes, and can maintain its physical properties for a long time.
4. Excellent corrosion resistance: Contains highly effective anti-rust pigments, which can effectively inhibit metal corrosion and provide long-term protection for the substrate.
5. Excellent adhesion: It has good adhesion to common metal substrates such as steel and cast iron, and is not easy to peel off.
6. Easy to apply: No mixing required, can be used directly, suitable for various application methods such as spraying, brushing or rolling.
use:
Due to its superior water resistance and quick-drying properties, this product is widely used in metal protection applications requiring rapid application or operating in humid environments. Its main uses include:
1. Bridges and steel structures: Used as an anti-rust primer for bridges, steel structure factories, and large outdoor steel frames.
2. Port and marine facilities: Suitable for equipment that needs to resist salt water corrosion, such as docks, cranes, and ship superstructures.
3. Power and transportation facilities: Metal structures such as utility poles, transmission towers, traffic signal poles, and guardrails.
4. Pipelines and tanks: Suitable for the outer walls of above-ground or underground metal pipelines and tanks in the chemical, petroleum and other industries.
5. Machinery and Equipment: Rust-proof base layer used for metal parts of engineering machinery, agricultural machinery, etc.

Theoretical coverage:
Typical: 7.6 m²/L/coat (dry film thickness: 50 μm (per coat))
It is recommended that the coating thickness be at least three times the maximum roughness (Rz) to achieve a good protective effect.
Instructions for use:
Surface treatment requirements:
Use a solvent to remove visible grease, oil, lubricants, cutting fluid, and other soluble contaminants from the metal surface that may affect adhesion, or use other methods to prepare the surface condition for the coating application, following the SSPC-SP1 surface treatment standard to prepare for subsequent protective coating applications.
The steel structure surface must be sandblasted to Sa2.5 (very thorough sandblasting) or SSPC-SP10 grade. Without using a magnifying glass, at least 95% of the surface area should be free of any visible oil, grease, dust, dirt, scale, rust, coatings, oxides, corrosion products, and other foreign matter. The surface roughness should be in the range of Rz 30-75μm.
Power tool treatment must meet St 3. This standard defines the use of power tools (such as power wire brushes, grinders, abrasive discs, etc.) to remove loose rust, scale, old coatings, and other foreign matter from steel surfaces until the surface has a metallic sheen. However, minor scratches and discoloration are permissible. It is equivalent to SSPC-SP3 in the US SSPC standard.
Surface defect treatment: This includes weld slag, burrs, cracks, and holes. These defects affect the adhesion and protective effect of the coating and should be removed or repaired as much as possible.
After surface treatment, a thorough inspection should be conducted to ensure that there are no contaminants or defects such as oil, grease, dust, dirt, scale, rust, welding slag, or burrs before proceeding with the next step.
Under any atmospheric conditions, it is best to perform the painting work within 1 hour after the completion of the "surface treatment" procedure, and no later than 8 hours after the "surface treatment".
Different coatings have different requirements for surface cleanliness and roughness. Please discuss this in detail with our sales staff before using this product.
Construction environment requirements:
Coating application should be carried out under suitable environmental conditions to ensure the quality of the coating. The following factors should be considered:
Temperature: Please construct within the recommended temperature range. Generally, it is not advisable to construct in environments below 5℃ or above 40℃.
Humidity: The relative humidity should not exceed 85%. Avoid construction in humid or rainy weather.
Wind speed: Excessive wind speed will affect the spraying effect; avoid construction on windy days.
Surface temperature: The surface temperature of the steel should be at least 3°C higher than the dew point temperature to avoid condensation on the surface.
