Applications:
– In the fiber industry, it is used for cleaning, mercerization, and dyeing to help remove natural impurities such as oils, salts, waxes, and fats. During the mercerization process, Caustic Soda (NaOH) helps increase the mechanical strength and smoothness of the fiber; subsequently, in the dyeing process, it helps enhance the color-binding efficiency to the fiber. In dyeing vats, soda helps stabilize and regulate the pH throughout the process.
– In the paper industry: Sulfate or sulfide components mixed in the raw materials are removed through alkaline extraction in the mill, used for pre-treatment in the secondary fiber refining process.
– In the detergent industry, it is used to produce soap and other detergents, and for saponification and neutralization processes in the manufacturing of detergents.
– Caustic Soda (NaOH) is applied in the Textile and Dyeing industry
used to decompose waxes and pectins in raw fabric treatment to increase luster and color absorption for dyed fabrics.
